He will also outline 4 steps in assessing your organization's readiness for a Data Governance Program. Joe has been a Data Warehouse consultant for the past 15 years, has worked along side some of the top Business Intelligence people in the country and has led DW projects at some of America's largest companies. Right now Joe is implementing a Data Governance function at Abbott Vascular, and has launched a company (Inteneo Systems) offering hosted DW systems for companies who dont' want to build and maintain them with their own staff, hardware, and sofware. Tracy Bauer - Data Stewardship Program at Federated Tracy will share experiences at Federated in getting their Data Governance program intiated by starting with a formal Data Stewardship Program. Tracy has been with Federated Insurance Company for 16+ years; the past 12 years have been as a Data Administrator. She teaches relational data modeling techniques at Federated and manages the ERwin modeling environment. In 2008, Federated initiated its first data warehousing project which includes a Data Stewardship Program. Tracy has lead the efforts to define, facilitate and communicate data stewardship at Federated. Mark Ouska - Intersection of Data Modeling & Data Governance Mark will discuss the conceptual, logical and physical data models, and how data governance, supported by data stewardship, capture the business' voice and carry the business intention through to the resulting implementation. Mark has over 20 years experience in data management primarily focused on conceptual data architecture. He has a diverse background that includes regularoty, natural resource and criminal justice in the public sector, as well as software development, insurance, banking and financial services in private sector engagements. Kim Olson - Data Governance & The Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) Kim will discuss the type of project management cycle that a data governance program follows, and the integration of data governance requirements into the SDLC. Kim has been in the technology field for 20 years, focusing on data architecture for the past 13 years. She is currently with United Health Group, and has worked for other large companies such as Carlson Marketing Group and Carlson Companies. Kim's data and enterprise architecture experience spans the full spectrum from Enterprise Information Management, Governance, BI, DW, MDM, Metadata Management, just to name a few! Kim has created, managed and maintained several Data Governance Programs in various business groups.
