Data Warehousing Specialists and Database ArchitectsThe U.S. Department of Labor Requests Your Assistance with O*NET
Research Triangle Institute, on behalf of the U.S. Department of Labor would like to have your input to update O*NET, the Occupational Information Network, a free resource for millions of employers, workers, educators, and students who need current information about the occupations in America’s workforce. O*NET is America’s primary source of occupational information and replaces the book Dictionary of Occupational Titles. DAMA International and your local Minnesota chapter are pleased to support the research and recognition of the following two occupational categories:
Data Warehousing Specialists: Design, model, or implement corporate data warehousing activities. Program and configure warehouses of database information and provide support to warehouse users.
Database Architects: Design strategies for enterprise database systems and set standards for operations, programming, and security. Design and construct large relational databases. Integrate new systems with existing warehouse structure and refine system performance and functionality.
We need input from U.S.-based members who have at least 5 years experience with either of the occupational categories which can be a combination of practice, teaching or training those in the occupation or supervising the occupations. (At least one year of the total experience must be in practice/performance of the occupation for the purposes of this project.) If you are interested in assisting with this project or have questions, please email Traci Davis at the RTI, International O*NET Operations Center
