As a Minnesota-based 501(c)(6) nonprofit, DAMA-MN operates under state regulations that require a minimum of three elected officers: President, Treasurer, and Secretary—each serving as legal directors of the organization. In addition to these core positions, our Board includes four appointed Board Members at Large, each serving as chair for a key committee: Professional Development, Communications, Strategic Relations, and Member Services.
This structure not only ensures legal compliance but also reinforces our commitment to good governance, clear accountability, and mission-aligned leadership. Our recent bylaw revisions—and planned updates to reflect this model—underscore our continued growth and commitment to formal, sustainable operations.

- Provide leadership and direction for DAMA Chapter and serve as Chapter representative to DAMA International and other groups or functions.
- Preside at Board and Chapter meetings.
- Appoint committee or Special Interest Group (SIG) chairpersons.

DAMA International (DAMA-I) is a not-for-profit, vendor independent association of technical and business professionals dedicated to advancing the concepts and practices for data resource management and enterprise information. DAMA-I is the parent organization of the DAMA-MN, and has chapters and members throughout the world.
