Members elect three officers, each serving a one-year term:
Officers are expected to participate actively in Board and chapter meetings, communicate regularly, and uphold the DAMA-International Code of Ethics. The President may serve up to two consecutive terms if reelected.
You may nominate yourself or another eligible person. If nominating someone else, first ask whether they are interested in serving. Candidates must be Individual members or employees of an Organizational member.
Nominees will be asked to confirm their willingness to serve and provide a short biography and statement of interest for publication to members. If you nominate someone else, the election team will contact that person to obtain their consent and candidate information. The team will verify eligibility before placing candidates on the ballot.
Nominate yourself or another person for President, Treasurer, or Secretary during October 16–30, 2026.

Pending member approval: The voting rules below take effect only if the proposed election amendment is adopted and applies to this election. Until then, the July 2025 bylaws govern voting.
Both Organizational membership tiers allow an unlimited number of eligible employees or other eligible participants to join the organization’s membership bundle. Each organization receives one vote on each matter, regardless of its tier or the number of people in its bundle.
The bundle administrator casts the vote or designates one delegate from the organization’s active bundle participants. The Secretary or election administrator records the authorized voter before issuing the organizational ballot.
An administrator and delegate may not both vote for the same organization. A person may represent only one organization on the same matter.
Yes. If you hold an Individual, Educational, or Honorary membership in good standing, you may cast one personal vote in addition to one authorized organizational vote. These are separate votes and use distinct ballot credentials.
Your personal vote is validated against your personal membership. The organizational vote is validated against the organization’s membership and your authorization to represent it. An email address alone does not establish voting eligibility.
Multiple personal membership records do not create additional votes. For example, an Honorary member who also holds an Individual membership receives only one personal vote.
A candidate may cast their own eligible personal vote. However, another authorized active bundle participant must cast the organization’s ballot if that ballot includes the candidate’s own candidacy. The organization must confirm the alternate voter.
The candidate may still represent the organization on a separate matter, such as a separate bylaw-amendment ballot.
Contact the Secretary before voting closes. An alternate may be designated while voting remains open, provided there is time to verify authorization and submit a valid ballot. The administrator will cancel any unused prior credential and confirm that the organization has not already voted.
A submitted organizational ballot cannot be replaced by changing delegates. If a candidate needs an alternate and none is authorized in time to vote, the organization cannot cast a ballot in that officer election.
Need help? Email secretary@dama-mn.org before the voting deadline with questions about your organization’s authorized voter, overlapping memberships, or ballot access.
Voting eligibility will be checked against chapter membership records. If you have multiple membership records or questions about eligibility, contact the Secretary before voting.
Eligible voters will receive formal notice at least 14 days before voting opens, along with electronic ballot instructions and exact opening and closing times in Central Time. Voting takes place December 16–18. Submit your ballot before the deadline.
Review the candidate information available beginning November 30. If you need help accessing your ballot, contact the Secretary before voting closes.
Validation is scheduled for December 19–22. Under the proposed election procedure, preliminary results will include instructions for a 48-hour challenge period. Independent reviewers will check election records before final results are announced. An unresolved challenge or required runoff may extend certification and the announcement date. Members will be notified of any revised schedule.
The chapter also welcomes volunteers for programming, communications, technology, partnerships, and member services. Committee chairs are appointed by the Board and are separate from this officer election. Contact the Secretary to express your interest.
