Volunteer Code of Ethics & Attestation

Welcome from the DAMA-MN Board of Directors

Thank you for your willingness to volunteer with DAMA-MN!

Our chapter thrives because of dedicated professionals who generously share their time, knowledge, experience, and leadership in service to Minnesota's data management community.

Whether you support an educational event, serve on a committee, mentor another professional, or participate in chapter leadership, your contributions help advance our mission and strengthen our professional community.

As an affiliated chapter of DAMA International, we embrace the principles of integrity, professionalism, responsibility, respect, and ethical conduct.

We ask every DAMA-MN volunteer to review the DAMA International Code of Ethics and formally acknowledge their commitment to these principles.

Thank you for contributing to a professional community built on trust, collaboration, and service.

The DAMA-MN Board of Directors

Our Commitment to Professional Conduct

Ethical conduct is essential to maintaining the confidence of our members, volunteers, speakers, sponsors, educational partners, and the broader data management community.

DAMA-MN volunteers are expected to:

  • Demonstrate integrity and professionalism. Act honestly, responsibly, fairly, and respectfully in all chapter-related activities.

  • Foster a welcoming environment. Treat others with dignity and refrain from harassment, bullying, intimidation, or discriminatory behavior.

  • Protect confidential information. Safeguard membership information, chapter records, personal data, and other information entrusted to the organization.

  • Avoid conflicts of interest. Disclose potential conflicts and refrain from using volunteer positions for improper personal or commercial benefit.

  • Respect DAMA's identity and intellectual property. Use DAMA names, logos, credentials, and organizational resources only as authorized.

  • Support learning and professional development. Advance the data management profession through education, collaboration, and service.

These expectations reflect the DAMA International Code of Ethics and the professional standards DAMA-MN seeks to uphold.
