AI is changing how organizations use data, make decisions, automate work, and deliver value. But the rapid adoption of generative AI, AI agents, GPT-based solutions, and increasingly connected AI ecosystems raises a fundamental question: Can we trust what these systems do with our data?
In this joint session, Bindu Channaveerappa introduces the Security, Ethics, and Governance framework she is preparing for the IRM UK Business Analysis Conference, while Terry Baresh connects those ideas to DAMA-DMBOK Chapter 7, Data Security.
Although the chapter predates today’s AI revolution, its core principles remain remarkably relevant: classification, confidentiality, integrity, availability, authentication, authorization, entitlement, least privilege, metadata, monitoring, auditability, accountability, and risk-based investment in security controls.
Together, Bindu and Terry will explore how business analysts and data management professionals can help organizations secure AI-enabled solutions, identify and prioritize risk, translate responsible-AI principles into practical controls, and ensure that innovation does not outpace governance.
